Bas came to Vienna in the first weekend of May 2009, to photograph our project at the Vorgartenstraße. The exterior of the project was completed in April, the apartments and interior spaces were still being completed.

Bas has an architect’s eye, for space and materials, for details and context. This also shows in the photos he has taken. He used the beautiful weather to his advantage and has captured the building to its full extent, over 200m in length.

The different identities on the side of the Vorgartenstraße and on the side of the former Wiener Nordbahnhof were portrayed in full, from the street and from high above street level, and also more abstracted, containing specific elements of the WAP-building.

Bas was a pleasure to work with. He helped us by giving us a fresh new look at our design.
